A woman was seriously hurt after a midday collision on Highway 1, west of Chestermere, amid snowy road conditions Monday.
An SUV and a flatbed tow truck collided at the scene at about 12:15 p.m.
The victim, thought to be in her 50s, was transported by STARS air ambulance to hospital in life-threatening condition. She had to be extracted from the SUV, and may have internal injuries.
An adult male who was also in the SUV and the driver of the tow truck were unhurt.
Strathmore RCMP have closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 between Paradise Road and the Chestermere off-ramp, but westbound lanes remain clear.
