Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks and surrounding areas are back under a severe thunderstorm warning as storm cells move east over the city.
Environment Canada Meteorologists say they are tracking a pair of storms that are heading east across the city, and affected parts of Alberta. Golfball and nickel-sized hail has been reported with the storms, along with heavy rain.
The agency said in its alert that conditions this afternoon will be “favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms,” which could produce hail “the size of loonies, wind gusts to 100 km/h and rainfall amounts to 75 millimetres.”
