A worker died after falling from the roof of a Lethbridge school construction site Wednesday afternoon.
The 51-year-old man was doing some welding work in the 200 block of Mildred Dobbs Boulevard in north Lethbridge, when he fell about nine metres, said Wayne Wood, spokeswoman with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety.
The man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
The employer voluntarily stopped work at the site.
Occupational Health and Safety officers were on site Wednesday and Thursday, and are investigating what caused the man to fall.
