Calgary Police have charged a 25-year-old man Saturday in connection with an accidental shooting in the southwest Calgary community of Woodbine.
Police say Brandon Naumann unintentionally discharged a legally-owned handgun at his home at 11 p.m. on Thursday night.
The bullet went through the wall of his house, on the 0-100 block of Woodford Crescent S.W., and the one next door, hitting Naumann’s neighbour in the abdomen.
The 61-year-old man, who was in bed at the time, has been released from hospital. Police say he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Naumann faces charges of careless use of a firearm, improper storage of a firearm and having a loaded restricted firearm. He’ll appear in court on Sept. 11.
A young man answering the door at the victim’s house declined to comment.
