Mounties in southern Alberta are investigating after human remains were discovered early Tuesday.
Turner Valley RCMP were called around 8 a.m. to respond to a report of human remains found in a wooded area near Eden Valley, southwest of Calgary.
Calgary forensic identification services along with the RCMP’s major crimes section are assisting Turner Valley RCMP with the investigation.
Search and rescue members were out Wednesday to gather evidence from the scene.
An autopsy was also conducted Wednesday by the Calgary medical examiner, who is working with an anthropologist to determine the gender and estimated time of death, but the results have not yet been released.
