A man is dead after an all-terrain vehicle he was driving rolled, northwest of Calgary.
Emergency crews were called to a rural area northwest of Sundre near Birch Lake on Saturday afternoon for reports of a rollover.
An early investigation suggests two people were in a Razor 800 side-by-side when it crested a hill and lost control descending the other side.
Paramedics performed CPR on the driver for about 45 minutes before the 37 year-old man from Blackfalds was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a 31-year-old Red Deer man, was airlifted by helicopter to a Calgary hospital in stable condition.
Police believe both men were wearing helmets and were buckled in by a four-point harness at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation, including whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
