One person is dead after a motor vehicle collision on Deerfoot Trail at Country Hills Blvd.
Emergency services responded to a call just after 8 p.m. to the northbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail, south of Stoney Trail.
On arrival, crews found a vehicle travelling southbound left its lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle travelling northbound. Each vehicle only had a single occupant.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a male in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene and the female driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police say all traffic in both the north and southbound lanes of Deerfoot Trail have been shut down to deal with the collision.
