Two people were seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision east of Calgary.
EMS from Strathmore, Chestermere and Calgary were called just before 2 p.m. to Range Road 264 north of Highway 1 in the MD of Rockyview for reports of a crash.
When they arrived, they found two SUVS had collided just north of Township Road 244 on Range Road 264.
Paramedics assessed and treated two patients, both the lone occupant drivers of the SUVs.
A woman in her 40s was extricated by fire crews and flown by STARS air ambulance to Foothills hospital in serious condition with a very serious leg injury.
A man in his 30s was taken to Foothills hospital by ground ambulance in serious condition with a leg injury.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
