The search is on for new leadership at the Blood Tribe Police Service after it lost top cop, Lee Boyd, last month.
Boyd resigned in June, the force confirmed Wednesday, saying it has begun its quest for a new police chief.
In the meantime, the service’s deputy chief, Kyle Melting Tallow, is acting in the role.
“Its business as usual and the community should not feel any change in service delivery,” Melting Tallow said.
Melting Tallow said the reason Boyd resigned “was not expressed” to the service, but would have been to its governing body, the Blood Tribe Police Commission.
The commission could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
Boyd had served as the Blood Tribe Police Service’s chief since the summer of 2010.
