City police are investigating two separate domestic calls overnight, in which two people were sent to hospital with stab wounds and two people were arrested.
Officers were first called around 10 p.m. Thursday to Saddlelake Place N.E. in the community of Saddleridge to respond to a dispute between two domestic partners, and arrived to find a man with stab wounds.
A man in his mid-30s was taken to Foothills hospital in serious but stable condition with two traumatic wounds, according to EMS.
Following a containment of the home, police took a woman into custody.
Several hours later, around 2:35 a.m., officers were called to Shawfield Court S.W. in the community of Shawnessy for another domestic-related altercation.
There, they found a woman in her late 30s suffering from a stab wound to the back of the neck. She was taken to Foothills hospital in stable, non-life threatening condition, according to EMS.
A man was arrested.
Police say the woman was initially assisting with the investigation but became less co-operative as the morning wore on.
Charges are pending in both cases.
