First responders in the Sundre area were searching for a helicopter Sunday afternoon after it made a hard landing near Ice Lake.
Sgt. Jack Poitras with the Alberta RCMP said emergency crews were initially alerted to the incident by a distress signal from the aircraft at around 1:30 p.m.
“We’ve been advised that a plane flying overhead has noticed the helicopter,” said Poitras. “There was three people waving to the plane.”
Poitras said the private helicopter “experienced some issues” that forced it to land in the remote area near Banff National Park.
