A celebration of Alberta’s rural roots takes centre stage at Heritage Park this Saturday and Sunday.
Called Country Kickback, the event will feature a number of games, demonstrations, hands-on activities and entertainment.
One of the scheduled highlights will be the steam-powered farm equipment threshing and baling in the wheat field, along with slow tractor races and a “sheep-to-shawl” competition in which participants create a woven shawl from newly sheared wool.
Other activities include churning butter, making hand-cranked ice cream, visits to a petting zoo and entertainment from line dancers and fiddlers.
Events go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
