Two individuals believed to be responsible for a violent crime spree that began in Airdrie have been charged.

Airdrie RCMP first arrested the pair after midnight, Sept. 8. Police allege they were in possession of a stolen property.

Later, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, Airdrie RCMP were called to a stabbing incident at a motel just off of Edmonton Trail, where a male victim was injured. The two suspects fled the scene.

While evading police, they stopped at a restaurant near Main Street. The two left without paying following an altercation in which one of the suspects allegedly assaulted the restaurant manager, who had confronted them about paying.

The pair then made their way to Calgary. At approximately 9:40 p.m., the Calgary Police Service – who were notified of the incidents by Airdrie RCMP – arrested the two in response to a stolen vehicle complaint. The pair was found in possession of a second stolen vehicle.

Serena Liversuch, 31, and Dana Motyer, 33, both of no fixed address, were transported back to Airdrie, where they were charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and uttering threats. The two were released on bail following judicial interim release hearings. They are scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on Sept. 29, 2016.
