Environment Canada has issued an advisory about near-zero visibility in parts of the province due to dense fog, from this evening until sometime during the day on Saturday.
The advisory encompasses the city of Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton and areas along the QEII between Calgary and Edmonton.
The weather agency is warning drivers to be prepared for poor visibility and reminds anyone travelling this evening to turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance.
Forecasters say the fog will gradually lift to low cloud during the day Saturday.
