Three young children were among those rushed to hospital in the aftermath of a fatal collision on Tsuut’ina Saturday afternoon.

One person — an adult — died in the crash.

Calgary EMS said it and Priddis EMS were called out to the scene of the head-on, two-vehicle incident between a pickup truck and an SUV, which happened about 3 p.m. on Six Mile Coulee Road, just east of Big Knife Road.

It was the SUV that suffered the worst of the collision. One person from that vehicle was killed, and a woman in her late 20s suffered critical injuries to her neck and back.

In the pickup truck was an adult male and three boys ages six, seven and eight years old. The man was not hurt and though the children were all taken to hospital Calgary EMS said they were not in life-threatening condition.

Mounties are now investigating what exactly led to the crash.
