One person is dead and another is fighting for her life in hospital after a single-vehicle collision on Crowchild Trail Friday afternoon.
Just before 5 p.m. EMS responded along the northbound lanes of Crowchild Trail north of 26th Avenue S.W. for reports that an SUV had collided with the eastern sound barrier wall
The male driver, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, said EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux. The passenger, a woman believed to also be in her 20s, was partially ejected and required extrication. She was taken to Foothills hopsital with “multiple, massive traumatic injuries,” Brideaux said.
Motorists can expect major delays in the area.
