Lethbridge police arrested two men Tuesday evening, a day after a drug-related shooting in the city.
Officers were called around 2:30 a.m. Monday to respond to reports of gunshots in the alley behind Gonzo’s Gas in the 900 block of 9th Avenue North.
Police said a 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were in the alley when someone drove by and fired shots at the pair. No one was injured.
Investigators determined the shooting was a targeted incident related to the drug trade, and the individuals involved are known to each other.
Around 8 p.m. the following night, members of the tactical team executed a search warrant at a home on Mount Sundance Crescent and arrested two men without incident. One of the men is believed to be involved in the shooting.
Officers also seized quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, and cash, and towed two vehicles from the scene.
Charges are pending.
