A woman was taken to hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition after crashing into a tree off Glenmore Trail early Wednesday.
Officers and paramedics were called around 1:15 a.m. to eastbound Glenmore Trail just west of Crowchild Trail for reports of a crash.
Police say a Nissan Versa was heading west on Glenmore Trail when the vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree on the north side of the road.
Shortly after, another driver and lone occupant had slowed her vehicle to help the woman when her vehicle was also struck.
The driver and lone occupant of the Nissan, the woman in her 20s, was taken to Foothills hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition with serious head injuries.
EMS assessed three people from the two-vehicle collision, two men and woman in their 20s, but all were found to have minor to no injuries and did not need to be taken to hospital.
Police are still investigating the factors leading to the collisions.
