Following an incident where a toddler fell a storey onto the concrete below, EMS is warning parents to consider window safety.
Saturday’s incident happened about 4:30 p.m. in Airdrie, as the child pushed through a window screen.
The child was injured, but was in stable condition when taken to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary.
EMS spokesperson Adam Loria said in a written release parents should keep furniture away from windows and consider installing safety devices to limit the amount a window can open to prevent similar incidents.
Direct supervision, he said, is also crucial in preventing similar incidents.
