A man was seriously injured Thursday morning after his motorcycle crashed into a road sign at Stoney Trail and 16th Avenue N.E.
Police and paramedics were called just before 7:30 a.m. to respond to reports of the crash.
Acting Det. Martin Taylor said the vehicle was travelling east on 16th Avenue approaching the ramp to get onto northbound Stoney Trail when he struck the sign.
The patient was taken to Foothills Hospital in serious condition, said EMS spokesman Adam Loria.
Traffic investigators are on scene.
The ramp is closed at this time.
