Airdrie RCMP arrested a driver Saturday evening after he was seen travelling 202 km/hr in a 100 km/h zone.
According to Mounties, the man was driving in fog and made several other traffic violations before being stopped.
A 36-year-old Carstairs man is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and dangerous driving of a motor vehicle.
“Mixing alcohol with high speed in poor visibility is a recipe for disaster” Cst. Matt Gervais said in a news relesae. “We are lucky the traffic unit was in the right place at the right time to prevent anything serious from occurring.”
The man was released and will have a court date in Airdrie.
